Privacy Policy
Effective: May 5, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Stratega Mobile ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Yestr Music (the "App"). By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
We've tried to write this in plain English. If anything is unclear, contact us at hello@yestr.app.
What information we collect
The App is built around minimal data collection. There is no signup process, no email is required to play, and we do not ask for your name, address, or phone number.
The information we collect is grouped into four categories:
1. Anonymous user identifier. When you first launch the App, we create an anonymous user ID for you on our backend (Supabase). This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any personal information unless you explicitly link an email later from Settings (which is optional and currently disabled).
2. Gameplay data. We store your daily guesses, scores, current streak, longest streak, song history, and the dates you played. This is what makes streak tracking and stats possible. Gameplay data is associated with your anonymous user ID.
3. Device and app information. We collect basic technical data: your device type (iPhone, iPad, Android model), operating system version, app version, language, and time zone. This helps us debug issues and serve appropriate content.
4. Advertising data. Yestr Music displays ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect information about your device, app interactions, and in some cases an advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android), depending on your device-level privacy settings. See "Advertising and tracking" below.
We do not collect: your name, email address (unless you provide one from Settings), phone number, contacts, photos, location, microphone audio, payment information, or any other category of sensitive personal data.
How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate the App and deliver the daily puzzle
- Track your streaks, history, and stats across sessions
- Diagnose crashes and improve app stability (via Sentry, see "Third parties")
- Display ads that pay for the App's free distribution
We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not share your gameplay data with anyone outside the service providers listed below.
Advertising and tracking
Yestr Music is free because of display advertising. We use Google AdMob to serve ads inside the App.
On iOS: Apple requires us to ask for your permission before tracking you across other companies' apps and websites. The first time you open Yestr Music, you'll see Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," we will request only non-personalized ads from AdMob — these ads do not use your advertising identifier and are not based on your activity in other apps. If you choose "Allow," AdMob may use your IDFA to show personalized ads.
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland: Before serving ads, we display a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP), as required under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive. You can choose what data ad partners may use. You can change your consent at any time from the App's Settings screen.
Personalized vs non-personalized ads: Personalized ads use information about your interests to show more relevant content. Non-personalized ads are based only on context (e.g., country and the App itself). Both are clearly identifiable as ads. We never show ads disguised as gameplay content.
For more about how Google handles advertising data, see Google's policies at policies.google.com/privacy and support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543.
Third parties
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to operate the App:
| Provider | What they do | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Stores your anonymous user ID, gameplay data, and streaks | https://supabase.com/privacy |
| Google AdMob | Serves ads inside the App | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Sentry | Collects anonymized crash reports so we can fix bugs | https://sentry.io/privacy/ |
| Apple App Store | Distributes the iOS version of the App | https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ |
| Google Play | Distributes the Android version of the App | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
Each of these providers has its own privacy practices, and we recommend reviewing them.
Children's privacy
Yestr Music is intended for users 13 years of age and older (16 and older in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information to us, please contact us at hello@yestr.app and we will delete it.
We have configured AdMob with content ratings appropriate for a general audience and not directed at children under 13.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Delete your account and associated data (use the "Delete Account" button in the App's Settings, which will remove your anonymous user ID and all associated gameplay history)
- Export your data in a portable format (use the "Export My Data" button in the App's Settings)
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent for ad personalization at any time via the App's Settings
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California, additional rights apply under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@yestr.app.
Data retention
We retain your gameplay data for as long as you use the App. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days. Anonymized aggregate data (e.g., overall play counts) may be retained indefinitely for analytics, since it is not linked to any individual.
Crash reports collected by Sentry are retained according to Sentry's data retention policy.
International data transfers
Our backend is hosted on Supabase, which uses servers in the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on our database, and access controls on our backend. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date at the top. If the changes are material, we will provide a more prominent notice (such as an in-app banner). Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
